- General ledger
- The complete record of posted journal lines, grouped by account. Every report in FINUXI is calculated from it.
- Journal entry
- A dated record of one economic event, made of two or more lines. Total debits must equal total credits.
- Debits and credits
- The two sides of every journal line. Assets and expenses increase with debits; liabilities, equity and revenue increase with credits.
- Posting
- Making a balanced journal entry final. Posted entries cannot be edited or deleted; a mistake is corrected with a linked reversing entry.
- Draft
- A journal entry that has been prepared but not posted. Drafts never affect reports.
- Accounts receivable (AR)
- Money customers owe you for invoices you have issued and not yet been paid for.
- Accounts payable (AP)
- Money you owe vendors for bills you have received and not yet paid.
- Aging
- Open invoices or bills grouped by how far past their due date they are: current, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days.
- Trial balance
- Every account's ending balance as of a date, in debit and credit columns. The two columns must be equal.
- Profit & Loss
- Revenue minus expenses for a period. Also called the income statement.
- Balance sheet
- What the business owns (assets), owes (liabilities) and the owners' stake (equity) at a point in time. Assets always equal liabilities plus equity.
- Bank reconciliation
- Proving that the bank statement and the ledger's cash account agree, item by item, and explaining any difference.
- Categorization
- Choosing which ledger account a bank transaction belongs to. FINUXI suggests an account with its reason; a person approves or corrects it.
- Duplicate signal
- Two imported rows that look like the same activity. Exact duplicates are skipped on import; possible duplicates are kept for a person to decide.
- Month-end close
- Checking that a period is complete and correct, then locking it so no further postings change it.
- Approval
- A recorded decision by an authorised person before a consequential action, such as posting a reconciliation adjustment.
- Chart of accounts
- The list of accounts the business uses, each with a type (asset, liability, equity, revenue or expense).
- Opening balances
- The balances carried into FINUXI on the day the books start, posted as one balanced entry.
- Exact amounts
- FINUXI stores money as integers in each currency's smallest supported unit (for example, cents for USD), so totals never suffer rounding drift.
