Categorizing answers the question “what was this money for?” — for example, fuel or software.
Every imported bank or card line appears here with its source, status and suggested account. FINUXI explains each suggestion (a company rule, a vendor default or a previous decision); you approve, correct or mark it for review.
Steps
- Filter by status, bank account, vendor, account, import or date.
- Select a row to open its detail panel with the source evidence and audit history.
- Approve the suggestion, or choose a different account and save the correction.
- For several rows at once, select them and use the bulk actions.
What you get
Each transaction carries an explicit, audited decision. Categorizing a transaction does not post a journal entry by itself.
Who can do this
Owners, admins, accountants and bookkeepers can make changes; managers and viewers can only view.
If something goes wrong
- Approve is unavailable.
- There is no suggestion to approve; choose an account and use Correct instead.
- A row is marked as a possible duplicate.
- Resolve it under Banking → Duplicates, where both records are compared side by side.
Terms used here
- Categorization
- Choosing which ledger account a bank transaction belongs to. FINUXI suggests an account with its reason; a person approves or corrects it.
- Duplicate signal
- Two imported rows that look like the same activity. Exact duplicates are skipped on import; possible duplicates are kept for a person to decide.
